CHAUCER'S MEAD WITH SPICE BAG 750ML
Tasting Notes
Chaucer's Mead uses 100% pure honey from hives throughout Northern California and is composed of a blend of three types; orange, alfalfa and sage. Each of these components brings a unique quality to the blend and contributes to the overall complexity of the wine. Orange adds a pungent orange blossom flavor and has light color. Alfalfa is neutral in flavor but yields a dark, amber color. Sage, on the other hand, has a mild taste and a light color.
Chaucer's Mead is produced utilizing fresh honey without the addition of artificial flavorings, concentrates or artificial colorings. Even though greater production difficulties ensue because pure, raw honey is used for fermentation, the intensity of flavor generated through this technique is worth the effort. Although, this wine exhibits a richness similar to a fine liqueur, this dessert-style beverage is not fortified and contains only 11% alcohol. Hence, this wine should be consumed shortly after purchase to enjoy its natural and rich honey flavor (within 1-2 years of purchase). The Mead can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, either chilled, straight or heated with spices to create a delicious wintery drink, we also recommend trying it chilled with spices.

This is by far the best mead that I have had as of yet in my lifetime. By itself without the mulled spices I find the mead to be a dessert on it's own. Cold or hot the flavors of the honey are excellent. When heated with the mulled spices the flavors remind me of coming inside during a snowstorm and drinking a warm glass of hot apple cider with a touch of honey! Love it love love love it, I don't like regular wine but this stuff kicks it! I've been drinking it for at least 8 years and still haven't found another one to match it. It drinks more like a well done micro brew beer or a fruity mixed drink then it does a wine. -Anonymous
